The swirls of browns, beiges, and cream on this vase are not painted on, nor are these colors the result of a glaze. Eight different colors of clay have been combined into one ball of clay that has been thrown on the potter's wheel to create the beautiful swirls of this vase. While the inside of the vase is glazed, the outside is not in order to let the colors stand out in all their natural beauty.
