This delightful little vase sports swirls of yellow, red, and green. The yellow interior highlights the yellow on the exterior, giving this piece a warm, cheery vibe. The colors that swirl around the vase are inlaid colored porcelain, often called nerikomi or neriage. While the colors here are created by mixing mason stains into white porcelain, the use of naturally occurring colored clays to create designs is an ancient technique. You can certainly see the use of these colors in ancient Greek pottery as well as in Native American pottery. I love being part of this long tradition.
This vase is approximately 5.25" tall.
